Former Prime Minister Dr.Manmohan Singh was admitted to AIIMS and was under observation and investigation after he developed a febrile reaction to new medication. The 87-year-old Congress leader was discharged around 12:30 pm according to the hospital sources.
Dr.Manmohan Singh was shifted to a private ward in the Cardio-Neuro tower on Monday night.
He was also tested for Covid-19 and his results had come out negative, the sources said. The Congress leader was admitted to the hospital on Sunday evening after he complained of uneasiness.
In 2009, the then 76-year-old prime minister of India was operated by a team of doctors led by cardiovascular thoracic surgeon and vice-chairman of Asian Heart Institute, Dr. Ramakanta Panda. He was operated for a redo cardiac bypass surgery. Following the surgery, Dr.Manmohan Singh has been living an active and healthy life.
Five bypass surgeries were performed on Singh, who had already undergone a bypass surgery in 1990.
Several political leaders, including Congress president Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi, were delighted to hear the news that he had been discharged.
