COVID-19, the dangerous pandemic that wiped out nearly 33 thousand people all over the world and the count is still on. Millions of cases all over the world made the governments of different countries to act with the countermeasures. These countermeasures involved all the policemen, doctors and all the essential government officials to work despite the Corona outburst. The doctors are still working even in this dangerous situation. They are doctors, indeed warriors. Amongst all, we have forgotten that today is National Doctors’ Day which is on March 30, this particular day.

What is National Doctors’ Day?

National Doctors Day honors the professionals for their dedication and contributions to society and the community. Their dedication puts the patient first time and again.

National Doctors’ Day is celebrated on March 30, every year to recognize their tremendous amount of contribution and services. It was first started in 1993 by Ms. Eudora Almond Brown whose husband is a doctor. She believed that her husband and other physicians deserved more recognition for their hard work towards the community.

Corona Fighters

The doctors were treating the pandemic patients even though they knew that they might get affected. Thanks to their willpower and courage, which we all lack. However the doctors who were treating the Corona affected patients were being harshly treated by the society. They were being vacated from their houses and streets and most of the doctors’ families were now on roads which is pitiful. Such sort of people must not be regretted and they must realize how great doctors are.

This is certainly called an auspicious day also because on the very same day in 1849, first woman doctor, Elizabeth Blackwell had graduated from Geneva Medical College & the first successful artificial heart surgery was also carried out by Doc. William DeVries in 1982.

Thanks to all the doctors who were effectively fighting despite of COVID-19 outbreak and I thank all the doctors and wishing them on National Doctors’ day and we will be holding you in our hearts forever and ever.
